Insect Classification Diagnostic Test – Part 1 Written Questions

Please answer the following questions. Your responses will be used to determine the background knowledge of this class. If you do not know an answer, please leave it blank or state that you do not know for sure. You may not know many of the answers right now, but will be able to answer them all by the end of the semester. You should probably spend no more than 30 minutes on this. Part 2 - Sight Identification

The second part of this exercise involves sight identification of a number of different insects. To access this, View the page. You will find pictures of 27 specimens for you to identify. This is by sight ID only, no books please! Spelling counts! Write your determinations in the box below each picture. If you are not able to identify a specimen because something is not visible, include that under the comments. This is intended to measure your background knowledge and will not be used as part of your final grade. Do not be concerned if you are unable to recognize any/all of these. You will by the end of the semester.
